Forbidden Land
Description: Funny thing happened to me this past weekend.

It was the first time going on a photo shoot with sam and Shahin. I decided to take them to a place i know quite well. A place I had been to twice before. There was some risk involved but I never thought it would be to the extent we would face that Sunday afternoon.

This is a shot of a tree right at the start of what would be a 7 hour experience. Visit wvs and shahin's website for their perspective from this day.

- Arrived at around 10:00am
- Visited ruin of old stone house with corn field
- Jumped fence to original target around 11:30
- Spent an hour shooting various vehicles and subjects
- Got to the old collapsing house at around 12:30
- Shahin smells bruning wood.
- Sam notices a small school bus has a chimney coming out of it
- Shahin enters the bus and discovers something. Looks like someone lives here.
- I can feel warm air coming from inside. And the smell of Apples.
- Suddenly I hear a tractor in the distance.
- Its the old man that feeds the cows.
- 12:45 we start running and ducking back to where we came. The sound of the tractor getting closer.
- Hopped fence and into the neighboring corn field.
- 1:00pm walking back to the car.
- 1:15, i find 3 of my tires are completely flat. Old man on tractor approaching in the distance.
- 1:20, he stops and stares at us, I ask him what happened to my tires. Not a word. He continues driving.
- 2:00pm CAA air pump guy shows up. Fills one tire and looks like theres no punctures.
- Once he removed the hose the air just started cushing out. Turns out the old man took the valve inserts!
- 3:10pm Tow Truck arrives. Difficult to tow, no air at all and theres 3 of us. can only fit 1, maybe 2 in truck.
- Sam and Shahin wait in car while I go to Canadian Tire with TowTruck guy to buy pump and valves.
- 4:30 we arrive back. Fix one tire, then pump fails.
- Tempture and wind very cold. Tow Truck guy doesnt wear a coat. Crazy man.
- Eventualy all tires are filled, we take tow truck guy to McDonalds for some eats.
- Everyone safe and at home around 6:00pm

Same time next week?

Seriously, this is a very cool picture!!! I think I like it more because I know the story behind it. And that you got to spend some time with a rich and famous photographer.

what a story!

what a great story to tell the grandkids. All I ever got was a state employer telling me I needed a permit to shoot in the park!

LOVE IT!

I love the pics of old houses here and the story was great, sounds like one of my experiences, lol! The old farmer took the valve stems too, rich, just rich! I am in Evansville Indiana and regularly check in for new pics.

Very Good Work

Hey. My name is Andrew and I've been looking at yours and Sam's websites for some time now, and I can't say how impressed I am. You are both very talented and to see photography from the city I live is just heart warming. I am a musician, always wanted to get into photography, but never really looked into it much because music was very time (and money) consuming, and too see what you guys are doing, and the different prospectives shown through each of your work is amazing. Great job, both of you and keep up the good work.

Testa.
